EATaLOG is an organisation which recognises the value and contributions of other professional tree, amenity and landscape bodies, but is entirely independent from them.
1 AIMS
1.1 To promote and develop the management and care of landscapes, trees and woodlands within the East Anglia Region
2 OBJECTIVES
2.1 To provide a forum through which Local Authority Officers in the East Anglian Region can meet to discuss issues relating to landscapes, trees and woodlands.
2.2 To share information relating to the effective care and management of landscapes, trees and woodlands within the region.
2.3 To raise the profile of the role of Local Authority Officers involved in the care of landscapes, trees and woodlands.
2.4 Influence tree related legislation and good practice guides relating to trees nationally.
2.5 Establish, promote and raise standards of management and practice.
2.6 To represent the views of the Local Authority Tree & Landscape Officers in East Anglia at both regional and national level.
2.7 To liaise closely and promote co-operation with other organisations and groups concerned with the care and management of landscapes, trees and woodlands.
3 MEMBERSHIP
3.1 Membership of the East Anglian Tree & Landscape Officers’ Group is open to all tree and landscape officers within Local Authorities in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
4 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
4.1 The Executive Committee will be formed by two nominated members from each of the four counties.
4.2 Meetings will be convened as required to formulate a policy statement on important regional or national issues.
4.3 Its main roles will be:
- To exchange information between County Groups;
- To exert influence nationally and regionally on behalf of its members:
- To promote best practice; and (so far as possible)
- To support the role of officers within their own organisations.
5 MEETINGS
5.1 The East Anglian Tree & Landscape Officers’ Group will meet at least once a year. These meetings will be organised by each county on a rotational basis.
5.2 Where appropriate member councils may send more than one representative to the EATaLOG meetings.
5.3 Groups and agencies with an interest in tree related matters are welcome to attend.
5.4 Meetings will be held at different locations throughout the region and officers will volunteer a venue.
6 COMMUNICATION
6.1 Each county group will take responsibility for receiving and distributing minutes from the other three county groups to its own members.
