Assistant Arboricultural Officer

£17,154 rising to £21,414 (pay award pending) per annum plus essential car user allowance 37 hpw

The Parks and Open Spaces have a rich and varied tree population which is managed to a high standard. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic person to join our Parks Development Team to help maintain this standard.Reporting to the Arboricultural Officer you will assist in the effective management of the Councils tree stock in parks, open spaces and woodlands. Duties will include dealing with public enquires through a computerised record system, carrying out risk assessments on the Council’s tree stock and promoting community action through planting schemes and projects.

To be successful you will need a minimum of RFS Certificate in Arboriculture or]equivalent and be thoroughly familiar with current arboricultural best practice. You will be able to recognise a wide variety of tree species and be computer literate. The ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
